Can I book the ferry with you?

Yes – as Sealink agents we can book your return ferry trip to Kangaroo Island walk on or bring your own car. If you book with us we can offer you a 10% discount on the ferry fare. If you need a hire car, we can do that too. Pick up and drop off either side. Email or ring to so we can chat about this. Sealink and Kangaroo Island Connect.

Ficifolia Lodge has 4 self-contained apartments and we can offer you accommodation at Little Gums a self contained house with walking distance from Ficifolia Lodge. What do I need to bring?

Each apartment at Ficifolia Lodge is set up with linen quilts, pillows, extra blankets and towels. Coffee, tea, sugar and basic condiments including salt/pepper and some spices are provided. (unserviced unless requested).


"Little Gums" is the house we have available that will sleep up to 11. It is set up with Queensize split beds to enable a combination of sleeping arrangements. We supply enough linen, quilts, pillows and towels to suit the number of guests booked. This house has a minimum 3 night stay in winter and 4 nights at peak times.

Little Gums is self-contained and unserviced. It has 5 ensuited bedrooms, open plan lounge and dining area. It has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas stove & oven, full size pantry & dishwasher.

There are 2 outside areas to relax in, with one being setup with Gas BBQ for you to use. Heating & cooling is provided with reverse-cycle airconditioning setup in the main living area and each bedroom has overhead fans. The En-suite bathrooms have toilet, shower and vanity.

There is wood combustion stove set up in the lounge dining room area and we supply wood & kindling for the duration of your stay. The ambience of the wood fire is a nice touch during winter.


Are there any shops or eating areas in Parndana?

Yes we have our own Community owned Hotel, privately leasedParndana Hotel with restaurant, bar & bottle shop, Deli/Café/Supermarket/Post Office/ and Takeaway all close by. Petrol & bottle gas available.

How far are you from the beach, jetty and boat ramp?

We are located in the township of Parndana. The closest beach is Stokes Bay on the North Coast and Vivonne Bay on the South Coast, both approximately a 30 minute drive from Parndana.

Why do people lift their finger when they drive past you?

It is the way the locals on Kangaroo Island greet each other. Try it and see how many people greet you back.

Is Flinders Chase National Park open yet?

We are excited to announce that Flinders Chase National Park has re-opened since the devasting fires hit Kangaroo Island during the summer of 2019 & 2020. You will be amazed at the regeneration that has occurred since the fires. Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rock can now be safely visited.

Where can I get fuel on the Island?

Kingscote - 24 hours fuel at the Caltex or OTR both on Telegraph Road

Penneshaw - Fuel & Hardware offers self service 24 hours

Parndana and Vivonne Bay are your last stops for fuel if you are heading out west.

Fuel is available 7 days of the week at Vivonne Bay located at the Vivonne Bay Store open from 9.00am to 5.30pm and Parndana at Davo's Deli - Monday - Friday from 8am-6pm, Saturday until 1pm and Sunday from 8.00am-4pm.


Is there any play equipment for the kids on-site? How far away is the Parndana Community Garden?

Ficifolia Lodge and Little Gums has no playground on site, however there is a lovely children’s playground located at the Western KI Lions Park which is located on the corner of Jubilee Avenue & Wheaton Street.

The park is well set up with BBQ & shelter, seating & Public facilities. The Park is within walking distance from both Little Gums and Ficifolia Lodge. The kids will love it.

Parndana Community Garden, is a short walk away. It is located on Anzac Street, not far from the School. The Garden was set up by Sophie Thomson, from ABC gardening host of Sophie's Patch. It was created in partnership with the locals and designed as a bushfire recovery project for the Community to enjoy and the locals are happy to share with visitors.

Visit the garden and grab some locally grown herbs & vegetables that you can enjoy during your stay in Parndana.

Can I bring the family pet?

Sorry, we do not allow pets on the property to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all of our guests. Boarding kennels are available on the Island. Pets are not permitted in the National Parks.

What is your cancellation & deposit policy?

We do hope you understand the very challenging times we have been facing with the need to find a balance between managing refunds and cancellations against ensuring our business can remain operational into the future.

Cancellation or reservations made by the guest/client must be provided in writing to Ficifolia Lodge, and is subject to the below cancellation fees.

A deposit of 10% is required to secure the booking.

If a cancellation is received between the time you make the booking and 31 days before your arriving date, Ficifolia Lodge will retain the 10% deposit you have already paid, or if you have made your booking through on-line booking agents where we require a deposit equivalent the first nights tariff, the one night tariff will be non-refundable. Cancellations received due to Government Covid-19 restrictions all deposits paid will be refunded.

If a cancellation is received 30 - 16 days before the arrival date, 50% of the total booking amount is payable.

If a cancellation is received between 15 - 0 days before the arrival date, 100% of the total booking amount is payable.
